Amount Ingredient
1 lb very lean beef or venison cooked, and
ground or chopped
3/4 lb suet finely chopped,
or ground
1 lb black currants
1 lb golden raisins
1 lb dark raisins
1 cup chopped glazed pineapple
1 cup chopped glazed cherries
1 cup chopped glazed mixed fruits
2 cup brown sugar
2 cup finely-chopped peeled cored apple
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup dry sherry
2 cup cognac
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Grated peel of 1 orange
Grated peel of 1 lemon
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix all ingredients together and place in a large crock or glass jar. Cover and let stand in refrigerator at least 1 month before using. If mixture becomes dry at any time, add more sherry.
