1 cup Dessicated coconut, (see note:)
1 cup Rolled oats
1 cup Plain flour
1 cup Sugar
1 pch Salt
4 oz Margarine
2 tbl Golden syrup
1 tsp Bicarb soda
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix coconut, flour, oats, sugar and salt together light.

Melt margarine and syrup, soda (first disolving the soda in boiling water). Then add to dry ingredients.

Put teaspoonfull on greased trays leaving room for spreading.

Bake in moderate oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.

Loosen on tray and remove when cold.

the resident used 3/4 cup of dessicated coconut instead of 1 cup, and baked in a slow oven for 20 minutes, instead of a moderate oven for 15 minutes - both recipes are delicious.
