Instructions: Pour boiling water over dried apricots and let stand. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and allspice. Add milk to apricot juice to make 2/3 c. Beat the shortening adding sugar gradually. Beat in the egg. Add dry ingredients alternately with the liquid. Fold in the fruit and walnuts.
Spoon into a greased and floured pan, 9x5. Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour. Cool on rack. Email this Recipe:
