2/3 cup WATER, BOILING
1 cup APRICOT, DICED
2 cup FLOUR, ALL-PURPOSE
1/2 tsp BAKING POWDER
1/4 tsp BAKING SODA
1/2 tsp SALT
1/2 tsp ALLSPICE
MILK
1/2 cup SHORTENING
3/4 cup SUGAR
EGG, BEATEN
1 cup APPLE, CHOPPED
Instructions:
Instructions: Pour boiling water over dried apricots and let stand. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and allspice. Add milk to apricot juice to make 2/3 c. Beat the shortening adding sugar gradually. Beat in the egg. Add dry ingredients alternately with the liquid. Fold in the fruit and walnuts.

Spoon into a greased and floured pan, 9x5. Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour.

Cool on rack.
