Instructions: Place apples and water in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cook on low for 10 hours.
Add the sugar and spices. Continue cooking on low for 8 more hours. Remove the lid from the slow cooker and cook for another hour, or until the apple butter reaches the desired consistency. Spoon into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Seal and store in the refrigerator. (Makes 5 pints) Email this Recipe:
