Instructions: Cream butter; add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, soda, salt, lemon rind, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in walnuts. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9- x 5- x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 55 to 60 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool bread in pan 10 minutes; remove and cool on a wire rack. Yield: 1 loaf. Email this Recipe:
