Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 180 C, 350 F, Gas Mark 4.
2. Trim the apples into squares and brush with lemon juice. 3. Fill the apple cavities with marzipan, and press remaining marzipan on top of the apples to form a flat, square surface. 4. Divide the pastry into 4 and roll out each portion into a square large enough to wrap around the apple. 5. Place an apple, marzipan side down in the centre of a pastry square and bring up the sides to enclose the apple, sealing the edges. Place seam down on a lightly greased baking tray and repeat process with remaining apples. 6. Use pastry trimmings to form ribbons to decorate the presents. 7. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle over the sugar. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden. Alternative ingredients- -Any small apple or pear may be used instead of coxs. -White marzipan is a suitable alternative to golden. -Try cutting shapes from any remaining pastry to decorate the parcels for example flowers or holly leaves for Christmas. NOTES : These individual apple and almond pies are deliciously light. Delicious served hot or cold with ice cream, custard or creme fraiche. Email this Recipe:
