1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
1/2 cup applesauce
1 tbl butter or stick margarine, melted
1 lrg egg
1 lrg egg white
cooking spray
1/3 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp butter or stick margarine, melted
Instructions:
Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 .

2. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients (flour through nutmeg) in a large bowl; make a well in center of mixture. Combine buttermilk, applesauce, 1 tablespoon butter, egg, and egg white in a bowl; add to flour mixture, stirring just until moist.

3. Spoon batter into a 9-inch round cake pan coated with cooking spray.

Combine pecans and remaining ingredients in small bowl; stir with a fork until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle evenly over top of cake. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted it center comes out clean.

Yield: 8 servings.
