1 cup butter
2 cup sifted flour
1 cup white pulverized sugar
1 tsp baking powder
8 x egg whites
1 tsp lemon extract
Instructions:
Instructions: Beat the whites of the eggs to a stiff froth. Add the baking powder to the flour and sift it three times. Sift the sugar three times. Beat the butter, which has been well washed, to a cream with sugar. Then gradually add the flour, beating all the while, and the flavouring extract. Lastly, add the whites which must be very stiff. Mix all thoroughly, and bake for about half an hour in a moderately quick oven. Use a Turks head tin.
