1 lb dried black beans (or turtle beans)
1 jar salsa (16 ounce) (your favorite kind)
Instructions:
Instructions: Rinse beans, removing any foreign objects. Place in a large bowl and cover with water and allow to soak at room temperature overnight.

Drain beans and place in a crockpot with the salsa and stir. Add enough water just to cover the beans. Cover and cook on low all day, 8 - 10 hours.

Yield: 10 - 12 side dish servings or 6 - 8 main dish servings.

These freeze well.

NOTES : Usually I cook beans with tomatoes only when i want the beans to stay a little hard. But here, it cooks 8 - 10 hours. so maybe it does make a something that can be served with rice or as a dip with tortillas....[PatH ]
