Instructions: Drain canned water chestnuts very dry and mix with sugar. If fresh water chestnuts are used, wash, peel, and rinse. Cut bacon into 3 sections, if using short bacon cut in half. Wrap bacon around water chestnuts and attach both ends with a round toothpick. If the bacon seems too short, stretch it lightly. this preparation can be done hours ahead.
Roast wrapped water chestnuts in baking pan at 450F for about 15 minutes or until bacon is golden brown. Email this Recipe:
