450 gm cooking apples (weighed after peeling and coring)
1 tbl water
3 x level tablespoons honey
75 gm breadcrumbs
75 gm butter or margarine
110 gm demerara sugar
50 gm ground almonds
1 x egg beaten
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat oven to gas mark 5 375 F/190C.
You will need 1 buttered1.25litre baking dish.

Slice the apples straight into a saucepan add the honey and the water and stew them gently until they are soft (this will take roughly 5 to 10 minutes).

Then add the breadcrumbs to the apples and pour the mixture into a baking dish.

Next rinse out the saucepan dry it and add the butter and melt over a gentle heat then take it off the heat and stir in the sugar and ground almonds and finally the beaten egg.

Spread this mixture over the apple mixture and bake the pudding for 25-35 minutes or until the top is a nice golden brown.

Serve very hot with chilled pouring cream.
