Cover the dish use foil if it does not have a suitable lid and cook in the roasting ovenfor 20 minutes or for 30 minutes in the four ovenaga baking oven. Beat the mascarpone with a little milk if it is very thick then add honey to taste. I sometimes use a set clover or orange blossom honey or a runny acacia honey. If your honey is very hard warm it on the back of the aga until soft or place the jar in a pan of hot water. Serve the figs warm with a huge dollop of the mascarpone cream as an accompaniment. I fantasise about using fresh figs straight from the garden but common sense tells me 1 would just eat such treasures fresh from the tree. So ready to eat dried figs are gently baked and then topped with the easiest of luxury toppings. Serves 6 Email this Recipe:
