1 pkt large elbow macaroni - (8 oz) cooked
16 x saltine crackers finely crushed
1 tsp salt
1 tsp seasoned pepper
8 oz sharp Cheddar cheese block shredded
8 oz extra-sharp Cheddar cheese block shredded
6 lrg eggs lightly beaten
Instructions:
Instructions: Layer one-third each of macaroni, crackers, salt, pepper, and cheeses into a lightly greased 13- by 9-inch baking dish. Repeat layers twice.

Whisk together eggs and milk; pour over pasta mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes or until golden and set. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

This recipe yields 8 to 10 servings.

Comments: The eggs and milk form a custard base in this version. Crackers thicken it.
