Instructions: Halve and seed squash; pierce several times with a fork. Arrange in a shallow baking dish, hollowed side up. Dot each hollow with 1 tablespoon butter topped by 1 tablespoon syrup. Season as desired. Pour 1 inch of boiling water into pan and bake at 375 oven 1 hour or until squash is tender, adding more boiling water as necessary.
