Instructions: Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt; set aside. In medium bowl, with portable electric mixer or wooden spoon, beat sugar, butter, and egg until smooth. Add bananas, orange peel, and milk, mixing well. Add flour mixture, beating just until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into prepared pan; bake about 1 hour, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Let cook in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. To serve, cut into 12 slices. Makes 1 loaf cut into 12 slices. Yield: 12 slices NOTES : I added 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, this is the banana bread I made prior to becoming a diabetic. Email this Recipe:
