Instructions: Peel core and slice apples.
Chop the onions. Put all ingredients except the bananas into a large heavy based saucepan. Bring to the boil, lower heat, simmer gently for 20 minutes or until apples have softened. Peel and slice the bananas, add them to the mixture and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring every now and then, until the mixture is thick. Spoon into jars while warm, cover. Use underipe bananas.
