1/2 cup plain yogurt whole milk
2 tbl lemon juice freshly ground
5 x cloves garlic crushed
1 x 1 inch piece fresh ginger grated
1 tsp salt
2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

20 x raw medium shrimp peeled and deveined 20 skewers or toothpicks - presoaked in
Instructions:
Instructions: Combine marinade ingredients in a nonmetallic bowl. Add shrimp and toss to coat each shrimp well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Threat 1 shrimp on each soaked skewer.

Preheat broiler. Alternatively preheat a ridged case-iron griddle, grill pan, or barbecue. Broil shrimp until they turn pink and lose their transparency, 3 minutes on each side. Serve hot, warm or at room temperature.

Can be prepared ahead: marinate shrimp up to 4 hours in advance. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Skewer shrimp up to 1 hour in advance. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
