Instructions: Soak beans over night. Bring beans to the boil and simmer for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Chop onion and garlic and fry in lard until golden brown. Stir in red wine and tomato puree. Bring to the boil. Add beans and 1-2 cups of cooking fluid. Stir in gravy powder. Season with salt, pepper and marjoram.
