Instructions: In a Dutch oven, place brisket, onion, spices, & enough water to cover. Simmer, covered, about 2-1/2 hours or until meat is very tender.
Finely shred beef & chop the onion; mix together with green pepper. Place a spoonful of meat mixture on each tortilla.. Roll up & secure with toothpicks. Deep fry flautas in hot oil. Drain on paper towels. If desired, serve with guacamole, salsa, & sour cream. YIELD: 9-12 servings (While living in San Diego many years ago, a Mexican couple showed, & helped me make these for a large neighborhood fiesta. They were a big hit & I have continued to make them just the way they showed me. They can be served as appetizers or as a main meal, alongside Spanish rice & refried beans) Email this Recipe:
