1/2 lb beef stew meat or chuck roast
1 lrg onion chopped
2 x cloves garlic minced
5 x carrots peeled and cut into chunks
3 stalk celery cut into slices
1 x 16 oz. can beer
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
2 tbl tomato paste
4 tbl melted butter or margarine
Instructions:
Instructions: Cut beef into 1-inch squares. Place beef, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, beer, salt, pepper, oregano, and tomato paste in slow cooker. Set cooker on Low and cook for 8 to 10 hours. Mix melted butter with flour until a smooth, thick paste is formed and stir into stew. Taste stew and adjust seasoning to your personal preference. Turn slow cooker on High and allow mixture to thicken before serving.

NOTE: If you like potatoes in your stew, add canned potatoes (cut into chunks) just before serving.
