Instructions: In large bowl, thoroughly mix 1/2 cup soup, ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, and sauce. In 12x8-inch baking pan, firmly shape meat into 8x4-inch loaf. Bake at 350 F. 1 1/2 hours or until done. Remove meat loaf to platter; keep warm.
Pour of all but 3 tablespoons of drippings from pan. Stir remaining soup and water into drippings in pan, scraping up brown bits from bottom. Over medium heat, heat soup mixture until hot, stirring constantly. Serve gravy over meat loaf. Makes 8 servings. *Variations: 1. Substitute cream of mushroom soup for golden mushroom; use 2 pounds meat loaf mix (beef, pork, veal), 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats instead of bread crumbs, and 1 tablespoon soy sauce instead of Worcestershire. 2. Use cheddar cheese soup, 1 1/2 pounds ground beef plus 1/2 pound Italian sausage, casings remove; 1/2 cup finely crushed saltines and 1/4 cup chopped pimento-stuffed olives. Email this Recipe:
