Instructions: 1/3 Cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup vinegar
1 cup water
1/4 cup butter
Heat all ingredients to boiling.

Then add:
4 cups shredded blue cabbage
2 tart apples ( whole or chopped) chopped adds a sweeter taste Simmer for 1 1/2 hours
