Yield:
2 large loaf
Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
1 lrg box dates
1/2 box raisins (optional)
1 tsp baking soda, heaping
2 tbl butter
2 cup boiling water
2 cup sugar
2 x eggs, well beaten
2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp vanilla
2 cup white flour
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix dates and raisins. Then add baking soda, butter and boiling water. Mix and let set overnight.

Mix all the remaining ingredients and then mix with fruit and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees. You may bake in cans or loaf pans. If using cans fill a little over half full.

Makes 2 large loaf pans or 3 1-lb coffee cans or 6

#303 vegetable cans.

Note: You can use 3 cups white flour and 1 cup of whole wheat if preferred.
