Instructions: Mix dates and raisins. Then add baking soda, butter and boiling water. Mix and let set overnight.
Mix all the remaining ingredients and then mix with fruit and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees. You may bake in cans or loaf pans. If using cans fill a little over half full. Makes 2 large loaf pans or 3 1-lb coffee cans or 6 #303 vegetable cans. Note: You can use 3 cups white flour and 1 cup of whole wheat if preferred. Email this Recipe:
