Instructions: Cream the butter and the sugar.
Add the eggs and all remaining ingredients. Knead lightly. The dough will be slightly sticky. Wrap in cling film and chill for at least one hour. Cut into quarters. Work with one quarter while the remaining three quarters stay chilled. Roll to thickness of a 10c piece. Cut out shapes. Place on lightly greased baking trays. aga have the ovenshelf on the bottom set of runners. Place baking trays in the ovenslide the cold plain shelf on second set of runners down. aga bake towards the bottom of the baking oven. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until slightly golden at the edges. Cool on a wire rack. These biscuits can be iced with water icing. When baking a large batch of biscuits remove the cold plain shelf periodically and allow to cool. I make batches of these and give them as little offerings when visiting friends at christmas. My children cut out christmas shapes to give to teachers and elderly neighbours. They are truly crisp and delicious. Email this Recipe:
