Instructions: Preheat oven to 325 F.
Toast the bread cubes in the oven until lightly toasted. In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, milk, eggs, sugar, raisins, and vanilla and mix together well. Pour the melted butter into a casserole dish and add the milk mixture. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until set. Remove the baked custard and let stand for 5 minutes. Serve warm, topped with the Whiskey Sauce. YIELD: 8 SERVINGS Whiskey Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved. Add 2 teaspoons of the hot sugar mixture to the beaten egg and blend well. Add the egg mixture to the sugar mixture and mix together well. Stir in the whiskey.
