Instructions: Step 1: In a large saucepan, bring the cider, sugar, lemon juice, 3 cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice to a boil over high heat. Lower the heat and simmer; uncovered, for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Remove from the heat and stir in the apple brandy. Strain into a heatproof pitcher. Serve immediately in mugs with cinnamon stick stirrers NOTES : In Elizabethan England, someone said: "They are more strengthened for hard work by Cyder than the very best beer."
