Instructions: Heat water to lukewarm and dissolve yeast in water; add 2 tablespoons sugar; set aside until mixture bubbles. Combine in mixer remaining 4 tablespoons sugar, oil, salt and milk. Add yeast mixture and stir well; start adding flour one cup at a time until you have mixed approximately 6 cups. With wooden spoon or dough hook, add 2 more cups flour. Grease five 1 pound coffee cans (lids, also). Fill cans half full with batter. Put on lids and let rise. (I put them close to my Bunn coffeemaker because it has a hot water tank that is always warm) Gently remove lid, place on bottom rack of preheated 350 F oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes. Remove bread from cans immediately after baking. Store extras in the freezer.
