1 cup water
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup tomato paste
2/3 cup vinegar
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
3 tbl molasses
1/4 tsp liquid smoke
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground mustard
1/8 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat and whisk until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes or until thick.

After the sauce cools you can use it immediately, but its best to store it in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight where the flavor improves.

This recipe yields 1 1/2 cups.
