Ingredients:

100 gm white bread
350 gm lean chuck steak
1 x onion skinned and quartered
1 pch Presto mixed dried herbs
1 x salt and pepper
plain flour
25 gm English lard
Instructions:
Instructions: Make the bread into crumbs

Mince the meat and onion and add to the breadcrumbs with the herbs and segsonings Mix well and shape into four round flat cakes Toss them in a little flour

Melt the lard in a frying pan and fry the burgers until they are brown

Add the tomatoes cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes until thoroughly cooked

Serves 4

Before serving place a slice of cheese on top of each burger and grill till bubbling and brown
