Instructions: Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and spices, and sift together three times.
Cream shortening thoroughly, add sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, fruits, peel, nuts, honey, molasses, and cider. Add flour gradually. Bake in four paper-lined pans, 8x8x2 inches, in slow oven (200 degrees) 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Makes 10 pounds fruit cake. Email this Recipe:
