Instructions: Slice off 1/4 inch from the bottom of each head of garlic. (This makes it easier to remove the garlic after it has been caramelized.)
Rub the garlic with olive oil and place on the grill, cut-side down. Cook very slowly at a low heat, allowing the natural sugars to caramelize. (The total cooking time should be between 45 and 60 minutes.) Halfway through, cover the garlic with the foil. Comments: Using caramelized garlic instead of butter on bread saves lots of calories - it also tastes delicious. Add a few heads of garlic whenever theres room for them on the grill.
