2 tbl butter
1 tsp olive oil
2 lrg sweet onions, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/2 tsp dried thyme, crushed
1/2 tsp salt
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 tbl light brown sugar
Instructions:
Instructions: 1. In a large heavy skillet, heat the butter and oil over medium-low heat.

Add the onions, thyme, salt and pepper. Saute slowly for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Add the brown sugar and 2 tablespoons lemon juice. Saute 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining tablespoon lemon juice and continue cooking 5 minutes. The onions should be very soft and golden brown in color.
