1/2 cup flour
1/2 tbl sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dry mustard
generous pinch cayenne pepper
1/4 cup margarine softened
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
1 x egg
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
5 slc bacon cooked and crumbled
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt, dry mustard, and cayenne. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in shredded cheese. In a small bowl, combine egg, buttermilk and Worcestershire sauce. Make a well in flour mixture and pour in liquid; mix until just moistened. Stir in bacon and olives. Turn batter into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 3750 30 to 40 minutes. Turn out of pan and cool on wire rack. TO make muffins, divide batter among 12 well greased muffin pans. Bake at 3750 for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm.
