Instructions: Melt margarine and allow to cool.
In large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and crushed red pepper. Grate cheese, add to bowl, and mix lightly; then knead just until the dough holds together. (At this point, you may add a bit more flour - up to another 1/2 cup - if the consistency isnt firm enough.) On a floured board, roll dough to a 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into strips, each about 2" x 1/4". As you work, place the strips on a baking sheet - covered with foil, if you like. Preheat oven to 300-F degrees; but as soon as you place the baking sheet in the oven, reduce the heat to 200-F degrees. Bake for about an hour, or until your Cheddar Crisps are an appealing golden brown. Email this Recipe:
