1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbl sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp dried oregano crushed
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil crushed or marjoram
1 can beer (12 oz) (1 1/2 c.)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4 oz)
Instructions:
Instructions: Grease the bottom and 1/2" up the sides of an 8x4x2 or a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, oregano, baking soda, salt, and basil or marjoram. Add the beer, cheese, and jalapeno pepper. Stir just until combined (batter should be lumpy). Spoon batter into the prepared pan. Bake in a 375* oven for 35-40 min. or till golden. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 min. Remove from pan. Serve warm or cool completely.

Makes one loaf.
