Instructions: Butter the bread and place 3 slices in the base of an ovenproof dish.
Top with the ham and half the cheese. Then top with the remaining bread slices butterside up. Whisk together the milk eggs and plenty of salt and pepper and pour slowly over the bread. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese leave for 10 to 15 minutes then bake at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4 for 40 to 45 minutes until puffed up and golden brown. Once prepared leave to soak for about 10 minutes before baking. Serves 4 Email this Recipe:
