Instructions: Preheat oven to gas mark 6 4000F (200 degrees C).
You will need 2 ungreased baking sheets. First sift the flour into a bowl then add the cheese ground rice salt cayenne and paprika. Mix everything well then add the butter and rub it in using your fingertips and finally bring the mixture together and lightly knead it into a dough. Next on a lightly floured surface roll the dough out to an oblong approx. 28 by 10cm using the rolling pin to knock back the edges to keep them straight. Next sprinkle the sesame seeds lightly and evenly all over the oblong and roll them gently into the dough they must still be visible. Cut the oblong across into strips about 1 cm wide then using a fish slice or something similar lift them on to the baking sheets and bake for 30 minutes. Cool them on a rack and store in an airtight tin. Makes 30-35 These melt in themouth little shortbreads are lovely served as a lunchtime snack with soup. Email this Recipe:
