Instructions: When serving this dish to my guests, they at first refused to taste, saying it sounded like an abomination before the Lord. When I insisted, they changed their minds and now this concoction makes the rounds of the neighbo(u)rhood:
Cut chicken into eight parts, rub with garlic and sprinkle with pepper. Marinate for at least 4 hrs (in fridge) in oil and wine. (HINT: Put chicken, oil and wine in stout plastic bag, squeeze out all the air and tie. This ensures all exposed sides of chicken will be in contact with the marinade). In glass casserole, arrange pieces of chicken, with slivers of bell pepper between them. Top them up with the sauerkraut (squeezed out of as much brine as possible), so no chicken is seen from above. Pour the remaining marinade on top. Cover and cook in microwave oven at medium power for 30 to 45 mins (depending on the power rating of your microwave). Serve with baked potatoes or boiled rice. If you prefer to cook in the oven, put the casserole on the highest rack. ( ) GREETINGS from U * Ramat Gan, Israel Email this Recipe:
