Instructions: Place the butter or margarine and onion in a 1-qt. microwave safe bowl.
Microwave on full power for 2 to 3 minutes, or until onion is tender. Add the chopped tomatoes, chiles, 1/2 teaspoon sugar (if used) and salt. Microwave on full power 1 to 2 minutes more, or until the cheese melts. Stir in the red pepper sauce. Season to taste. Transfer to chafing dish; keep warm and serve with corn or taco chips.
