2 lb beef stew meat
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tbl cooking oil
1 can golden mushroom soup
1/4 cup water
1 sm onion thinly sliced
2 tbl soy sauce
1 sm head cabbage or Chinese cabbage (6 cups) cut in 1" pieces
1 x 5 oz can bamboo shoots (3/4 cup) drained
Instructions:
Instructions: Sprinkle the meat with pepper; brown the meat in hot oil in skillet. Add mushroom soup, water, onion and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or till meat is tender. Add cabbage and bamboo shoots; cover and simmer 8 minutes more.

Makes 6 servings.
