Instructions: Combine the almonds & cocoa powder in a small bowl.
Cream the butter & sugar in a bowl until fluffy Beat in the eggs & the vanilla Fold in almond mixture, then the fresh strawberries Spoon mixture into a greased 8-inch springform pan Bake at 350 for 35 to 45 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool completely Remove from pan. Spread with the strawberry preserves. Bring cream to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat & add chocolate chips Stir until smooth; cool for 5 minutes Pour over top of cake(let drizzle down the sides) Description: "Cake" NOTES : "I knew that my husband had a business dinner that night. But I told him before he left that morning to save room for dessert when he came home. The anticipation was enough to drive me crazy. He got home around 8 oclock. I left a note on the entrance hall table where he always stops and sets down his briefcase. The note instructed him to go into the dining room, where I left a second note on his plate with a blindfold. The note instructed him, Put on the blindfold. He did, and then I walked into the room and said in a stern voice, Are you ready for your just desserts? He said, Yes, a tinge of fearful excitement in his voice. Okay take off your blindfold, I said. He did and the look on his face was priceless. There I was, naked except for some strategically placed whipped cream and holdingthis cake.
