Instructions: Process the oats in a blender until finely ground. Combine with the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl; mix well.
Cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in a mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add the flour mixture, stirring until moistened. Stir in the cinnamon, chocolate chips and nuts. Shape the dough into golf-sized balls. Arrange on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely. Note: Everybody has a favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and this one is mine. I learned from my mother-in-law, Carolyn Burch, that a little cinnamon is a great secret ingredient. Yields 8 dozen.
