Instructions: Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt and sift together three times.
Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add chocolate and blend; then add egg and vanilla. Add flour, alternately with milk, a small amount at a time. Beat after each addition until smooth. Bake in greased pan, 8x8x2 inches, in moderate oven (325 degrees) 1 hour. Cover cake with Fudge Frosting. Double recipe for two layers. Email this Recipe:
