Instructions: Melt the butter in a saucepan and over a gentle heat cook the onion it rums soft and translucent.
Season with salt and pepper allspice and ginger stir in and continue to cook for about 2 minutes. Add the apples grapes sugar vinegar and 3 tbsp water and over a strong heat bubble away until the liquid has reduced to about 3 tbsp. Stir in the raisins and cook for about 1 minute more then turn off the heat and leave to cool. Enjoy with cheese. This is not a preserve but fruit with a chutney flavour. And its perfect with cheese.
