Instructions: Cream shortening and brown sugar, add vanilla and egg yolk. Mix until smooth and light.
Sift-measure flour, resift with salt, and cinnamon. Work the two mixtures together. Butter a pan, pat out the combined mixture until 1/4 inch thick. Mark into squares. Spread egg white over top and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake at 275 for 30 minutes. Email this Recipe:
