Instructions: Crockpot method: Drain lima, kidney and butter beans. (Note: Do not drain baked beans.) Set aside. In large skillet, brown bacon, hamburger and onion. Drain. In large bowl, mix together lima, kidney and butter beans. Add baked beans with sauce. Stir in brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, mustard, salt and hamburger mixture. Fill crockpot with bean casserole. Cover. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
Oven method: Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Spray 3-quart casserole with cooking spray. Fill with casserole. Bake, covered, for 1 1/2 hours. For a less fatty version, fry bacon in a skillet first, drain bacon on paper towels and crumble into casserole. We prefer black beans to lima beans. Email this Recipe:
