Instructions: Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves.
Chop walnuts, dates and raisins (by hand or by food chopper). Cream shortening and gradually beat in brown sugar till fluffy, then add the eggs, nuts and fruits. Stir the shortening mixture into flour mixture and drop by teaspoons onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. * Note: Ive added up to 3/4 cup brown sugar. Sometimes with the lesser amount of brown sugar, Ive added a bit of maple syrup. Email this Recipe:
