Instructions: In a large bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of the melted butter, salt and pepper, onion, heavy cream, soup and cheese, and blend thoroughly.
Butter a 9x13x2 inch flat casserole dish and place thawed potatoes evenly in the bottom. Pour liquid mixture evenly over the potatoes. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup melted butter with the crushed cornflakes and sprinkle evenly over the top of the potato mixture. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until lightly browned.
