I always spray my grill lightly with Pam before I add any food. Then, while the grill is still warm, I place a wet paper towel on it and close the top.

By the time dinner is through, I only have to wipe it up with a wet sponge.

I tried that but by the time I was ready to clean it the paper towel was bone dry and brittle.

The best way I found is what was mentioned already - plug it in for a few minutes until its good and warm but not too hot to touch and use a sponge with plenty of water. The residue just rolls right off with minimal rubbing. The secret is to make sure its hot because I found the cooled off grill is as hard to clean as you found. ["Sue in NJ" (susang@agoron.com)]

The machine is a bit awkward to clean, isnt it. Ive tried prespray and the paper towels while still hot but those things clean about as well as setting the grill on the counter so that the lip hangs over the sink then using a dish washing brush and hot sudsy water to sweep it. that works pretty well. The top is awkward: need three hands to clean the top.

I made marinated chicken cutlets on the george forman grill last night and used the wet paper towel trick that was posted. It worked great!!!!! The marinate always gets sticky and hard to clean but the wet towel helped alot. Thanks for the tip [Aimcaitmel@aol.com]
