Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. To prepare the filling, melt the margarine in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, and salt; mix well. Then add the peaches and water. Stir; heat thoroughly about 5 minutes. Pour into a greased deep casserole dish (9x9-inch); set aside.
To prepare the crust, in a medium-sized mixing bowl, cream the margarine with the sugar. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk; mix well.
Pour the batter over the peaches; bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
Makes 6-9 servings.
